Lent 2020: Come to the Table
There is something Holy about sitting around a table with others, eating a meal, sharing life. It is a place where God meets us as we truly see and hear, know, respect and value others. Much of Jesus’ ministry was Table Ministry. He ate with friends, those who disagreed with him, and those who were considered unworthy and unclean. And in every setting, there was transformation. God was at work, caring, strengthening, challenging, granting mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
This Lent, on Wednesday evenings, we are inviting you to Come to the Table to encounter Jesus,
to allow him to transform your life – not just yours but also others through your presence.
Themes include identity, inclusion, forgiveness, living in abundance, and community.
The meal each week will be served by a Messiah Lifegroup. Come, be their guests! The meal will be served and following the meal, we will remain in the fellowship hall for singing, praying, discussion and dessert. Families are welcomed! Bring the kids, we’ll have activities for them as well.
On Sunday mornings our vision is cast in Paul's words, “Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5). We will follow Jesus' Journey to the Cross through stories from the Gospel of John and Come to the Table of Holy Communion.
