Mobile Food Pantry
at Harrison Street Baptist Church
8015 Harrison St. LaVista, NE 68128
On the 2nd Saturday of each month, Messiah joins hands with Gethsemani Hispanic 7th Day Adventist and Harrison Street Baptist Churches to distribute free food from the Food Bank of America. We service approximate 400 families each month from 7:00am 12:30 pm. Click the brochure link below for food pick up times.
Those that attend the pantry are required by the State of Nebraska to fill out the TEFAP, and Proxy Consent forms. Here is the Spanish versions of TEFAP and the Proxy Consent Form.
For those who are struggling, especially in the current circumstances, with addictive behaviors and substance abuse, we want you to know where you can reach out for help. Of course, please know that your Ray of Hope Team and Messiah staff are available to anyone who might be wrestling with mental health and addictive behaviors. Call or email any time and we will connect you with caring people.

Pine Ridge Missional Community
In 2017 Messiah established a relationship with people of Wavblee South Dakota and Families Working Together (FWT). Together, we are focused on supporting strengthening families on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with an emphasis on empowering individuals to become self-sufficient.
Contact Neil Smith for more information and to get involved.
Seasonal Giving
The Holiday's and other seasons offers us lots of ways to serve others. We collect hats and mittens, school supplies and Christmas gifts for children, as well as provide Thanksgiving Dinners for families in need.
Community Outreach Team
Volunteers, young and old are active throughout the year serving in a variety of ways including sponsoring an annual Easter Egg Hunts, Block Party, Live Nativity and more. Erin can tell you more about the most recent events planned.
Parking Lot Ministry
Messiah is located across the street from two Ralston schools. Each day, volunteers go out to serve a snack and a smile to the parents, students, and siblings waiting in our North Parking Lot. This ministry has been key in helping us building trusting relationships with those in the community.
Contact Erin for more information.
Messiah has a covenant relationship with Nkuu Kati Lutheran Parish in Moshi Tanzania on the side of Mt. Kilamanjaro. Serving opportunities include vision and service trips to Tanzania, hosting visitors, sponsoring students’ education, and other events.
Afghan Refugee Outreach Team
This group is here to support the Afghan Refugee family sponsored by Messiah. To learn more about this special outreach team, contact Donna Bright.
Lutheran World Relief
Messiah participates in a large range of disaster and relief service projects throughout the United States and around the world. We collect donations and periodically collect items needed such as school supplies and health and hygiene items.
Mission Outpost
Messiah’s building serves as one of our greatest outreach tools into the community. We host a number of groups including AlAnon, Native American Warriors, Gethsemani 7th Day Adventist Hispanic Church and The Life in Christ Circus Clowns and Boy Scouts of America.
