In the mid-1950s, a group of Lutheran families settling in Ralston shared a conviction: their growing town needed a Lutheran church. That vision became reality on February 12, 1956, when Messiah Lutheran Church was chartered. The early congregation was resourceful and determined—first gathering in a local school, then purchasing and converting a house into a place of worship. In 1960 they broke ground on the first building at our present site, now the education wing. Growth followed. The worship center was added in 1967, and in 1980 the fellowship hall and lower-level classrooms completed the facility we know today. A major remodeling of the worship center was finished in 2008. Through every season of building and growth, the people of Messiah have been guided and inspired by God's Spirit—moving through their caring, outreach, worship, and learning. We believe it remains our driving force today.
